Once you are out on the lake, and have found that “perfect” place to fish, there are only a few easy steps you need to follow before placing your line in the water.
I am an avid fisherman both on open water and through the ice, but my absolute favorite is ice fishing. Over the years I have designed several types of ice fishing cabins with various systems to lower and raise the cabin off and on the ice. However, every house I designed had one common problem….they were hard to pull over lake surfaces because of deep snow and the fact that you always had to cut two tracks, one set for your vehicle and another for the trailer.
This new system has solved the deep snow problem. I now have designed a trailering system that solves both issues: it contracts in width so that the trailer tires track behind your vehicle while you are moving down the highway or traveling across a frozen lake, and expands in size when you want to set up to fish.
Last winter we were on Bitter Lake and the snow was fairly deep. After three days and two nights, we had to travel at least three miles on a one-track trail to get off the lake. We had zero trouble moving because the trailer wheel base and the pickup wheel base were in perfect alignment.
I have used this system for the last three years and it works great. You have a warm, spacious fishing cabin in which to fish. We have been out on several trips that lasted for three days and two nights. The kitchen works great to cook meals, the cabin is spacious enough for two to three people, and the 12 volt battery invertor provided us with HD TV reception. Life is good!
- Mick MilesI have known Marvin Sharkey, the inventor of this wonderful ice fishing house, for many years. I have fished with him and actually used and stayed in this structure several times. I’ve found it to be very practical and enjoyable. The expandable sides are fantastic. It’s roomy and allows for an excellent ice fishing experience.
Anyone who purchases a Sharkey Fish House will be very satisfied.
